No, not Mussorgsky, I'm afraid (80% of readers - if not more - are thinking 'what's Mussorgsky?' :XD:).  Just a few photographs from the exhibition at the British Library of my illustrations for the Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám, as promised in this entry.

slightlytriangle, creamykiwi86, another friend and I visited the exhibition on the 19th December, shortly after it opened.

Please forgive the quality of the above picture, but it gives some idea of this little area towards the exhibition entrance where my work was displayed.  The stands are decorated with reproductions of  illustrations by a few past masters who have approached the Rubáiyát before.

Two further illustrations by me were enlarged on display panels (quatrains 21 and himmapaan.deviantart.com/art/Q…), but these are deeper within the gallery where photography is not permitted, so I'm afraid there aren't any pictures of them.  There, a copy of my edition shares exhibition space with some precious past editions of this book, a few of which were mentioned in the article I'd posted about in my last entry.  All of which provides for a giddyingly red-faced experience for me.  If you had been privy to my thoughts whilst I was there, the most you would have been able to hear would have been 'Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggghhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!', accompanied by some mental hyperventilation.

I do not understand why the division below is running into my footer, in spite of all the correct codes.  Plus you will not believe how unconscionably long it has taken me to post this simple entry.  My computer froze and I had to restart the wicked machine.  I almost threw something at it. Insufferable hotmail codes and linking, etc, etc.  Really, dA ought to start providing Rich Text editing tools for us by now. I pay the subscription, don't you know.

Thank you so much to new watchers, to everyone for all your favourites, for your continued interest, and quite simply for your general tolerance.

I am not always able to reply to every comment (though I do try), and I have had to choose not to thank everyone individually for favourites and watches (but again, I try to acknowledge the latter as much as possible), for which I do beg your pardon. Please be assured, however, that I appreciate them very much.

What a wonderful exhibition! :wow:
I am sorry to be commenting so late...I am quite behind on dA
It is wonderful how they used the reproductions from the past editions as a backdrop for yours! Quite lovely!
How very exciting it must have been!
Congrats to you!
