The Sun, whose rays
Are all ablaze
With ever-living glory,
Does not deny
His majesty,
He scorns to tell a story!
He don't exclaim,
'I blush for shame,
So kindly be indulgent,'
But, fierce and bold,
In fiery gold,
He glories all effulgent!
I mean to rule the earth,
As he the sky -
We really know our worth,
The sun and I!
I mean to rule the earth,
As he the sky -
We really know our worth,
The sun and I!
Observe his flame,
That placid dame,
The moon's Celestial Highness;
There's not a trace
Upon her face
Of diffidence or shyness:
She borrows light,
That through the night,
Mankind may all acclaim her!
And, truth to tell,
She lights up well,
So I, for one, don't blame her!
Ah, pray make no mistake,
We are not shy;
We're very wide awake,
The moon and I!
Ah, pray make no mistake,
We are not shy;
We're very wide awake,
The moon and I!
Yum-Yum's song.

Here's an old drawing of Yum-Yum...

Now, whilst I don't quite share Yum-Yum's opinion about ruling the earth, I have been in such a pleasant mood since Saturday, when I posted the rather enigmatic temporary entry.
Citizens of Titipu, I mean, ladies and gentlemen, I am now, at long last, in possession of quite an extraordinary treasure:
a scanner.
Newer watchers may be unaware that hitherto, I've been obliged to send photocopies of some of my work to my honorary sister *
slightlytriangle to scan them for me.
I must confess to having spent a small fortune on it, but I find myself quite a child with a new toy.
I've been replacing a number of my files, and will continue to do so, assuming I can find some of those originals.

I haven't notified watchers of these replacements to avoid clogging up your deviantwatch, but you may like, if you can spare the time, to revisit the gallery. The notable pieces that have so far been replaced with new scans are the whole of
The Vermilinguan Necessity:

These sketchbook pages:

And a few other drawings, such as this:

I'm sure you can look for others, should you feel inclined.
The entire set of
The Red Fairy Book illustrations
[link] were also replaced:
however, I had to scan from proofs, as my originals are still not back from the publisher. They have turned out looking a little darker than they are, but at least they are 'one step closer to the real things', as *
krysohmyz put it, and now they have shed the general film of yellowness (quite a different thing from the raw umber mixes I'm so fond of using) which seems to have dogged the photocopies.
A warning, then, of a possible ' picspam' over the coming days, as I upload at last some of my older work which I hadn't before been able to. Among these will be some sketchbook work and studies which will in all likelihood be relegated to my scraps eventually, but which may be interesting to see first. Unless I'm advised otherwise of their worth to remain in the general gallery. Older scraps too which were previously photographed will be replaced by their better scanned selves.
This may not be an unwelcome way to serve this dry spell whilst the artist's block continues. I am doing something too to try to remedy that, however...
