The suggester writes: "himmapaan is a relatively new user here on dA and his gallery hasn't had much attention. Which is a pity, since it's full of stunning images. 'The Twelve Dancing Princesses' is an illustration which combines incredible watercolour skills and detailed technique with a touch of fairytale magic, creating a real eye-candy". I could not agree more. 'The Twelve Dancing Princesses' I regularly read to my little girl, and this illustration is truly worthy of a much loved story. Wow, again! I love the gowns, but the night sky behind them is the perfect backdrop. What materials are you using?
Thank you so much!

It is indeed - pen and ink and watercolours.

This has all the qualities of the classical illustration I love so much. I see lots of influences, but no imitations. Do you know the work of Micheal Hague? I'm reminded a little of him except...he can't draw faces to save his life...the faces on your characters are elegant...great work!

The ex-girlfriend would complain, "You don't do enough." I'd ask, "What do you want me to do?" She'd say, "You should know." Finally, one day I said, "Whatever it is I'm not doing, I'm probably going to not do again." -unknown comic
oooooooh!
that was one of my favorite stories as a child!
:heart::rose: amazing again!

Thank you so much! I mentioned elsewhere that some of my influences include the illustrators of the 'Golden Age' of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. :)
