*I oughtn't to impose on how people add to their favourite collections, but if anyone adds this to their 'fan art' collection, I shall chain you to a rock to be at the mercy of Ceto, and have Perseus, Andromeda and Pegasus point and laugh (

I have nothing against fan art, but please distinguish between that and an illustrative response to a work of literature.

Studies of the Bennet sisters from Jane Austen's
Pride and Prejudice.
Pencil in Moleskine sketchbook, 2006.
Drawn when the Folio Society commissioned me to illustrate the book for them. I had the 1813 revision of the text in mind when drawing these, hence the hairstyle. This was changed to fit the late 1790s of the actual setting of the book for the final illustrations. Though I didn't actually get to draw all the sisters for those at any rate.
This is what I mean about my pencil work not reproducing too well. I can't draw any darker...

their faces are so well fitting for their personalities -_-
