Sneaky Peek 1 by Himmapaan Sneaky Peek 1 by Himmapaan
A sneaky peek at what I have spent much of this year working on. The project was mentioned briefly in the last paragraph of this journal entry: [link] It was completed in early autumn.

This photograph was taken before the spread was finished.

I think just one little peek at a time with great gaping intervals in between would be the safest thing until the book is published next autumn. :D I share them in good faith, so I would be enormously grateful that these do not leave dA! Thank you so much!

It will be widely available. :) Like Night Before Christmas, it's a novelty book and will be published by Walker Books here in the UK, and most likely by Candlewick Press in the US.

Fabulous! How do you get so much detail into such small a space? You must have great patience and a very steady hand :) It's just gorgeous.

Oh, now I am inordinately excited! Another amazing silhouette book! The contrast between all the detailed ornamentation and the simplicity of the silhouettes is lovely. So lovely and exotic.

Very delicate patterning work, especially on the gold parts, very fine but clear and sharp too.

These are beautiful, Niroot! :D The amount of detail is amazing, as is the fine line and careful figure of each ^_^ Do do paint these with the Chinese brushes or do you use a smaller one to achieve such fine lines? However you do them, it's just breathtaking

Ah, I see you've seen my journal post with the brushes. :D Yes, these were painted with Chinese brushes too, though smaller ones than those seen in that photograph.

Oh yes, I try to keep to date with the blogs I follow ;) I found that one particularly interesting, as you showed your tools
I imagined! to achieve such detail you'd need to work with finer ones. By the by, nice work on Elinor and Marianne  You have a great touch with delicate features.

I feel quite ashamed that I haven't been keeping abreast of your blog. :blushes: :ashamed: I intend to rectify that in the new year.

The Elinor and Marianne sketch is a sneaky peek of my current project, in fact. I will friends-lock it soon, so I'm glad you got to see it for the moment. :D

Well, that must be remedied at once! :shakefish: :giggle: You evidently have an abundance of beautiful works!

I am often unhappy with my work, but I think I may safely say that I like more than two of them. :XD: That must make me violently conceited.
