Marianne... sunk into her chair, and Elinor... tried to screen her from the observation of others, while reviving her with lavendar water.

Ink on hot pressed Fabriano. I'm afraid I've forgotten the dimensions and am not persuaded to dig out the original. Suffice to say it is, as usual, small. ;)

Illustration for the Bath Bicentenary edition of Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility, published by Palazzo Editions, 2011. Available from Amazon and good bookstores.

A few other illustrations for this book are in this folder. There is also a slideshow on Palazzo's blog.

I continue to adore the gorgeousness of that edition. I can always feel the luxury in it and (in this scene) the absolute shock and sadness.

As always, your silhouettes are stunning. The details are amazing, especially in the fringe of her shawl. It looks blue, the lines are so fine. I cannot stop looking at this!
