The queen, princess Rosette's mother. Study for Mme Catherine d'Aulnoy's Princess Rosette. As with the studies of the princess herself ([link]), this was made a few years ago. However, she remained the basis for the queen (the same character, after all) in this illustration: [link] , when I got to create it for The Red Fairy Book last year.
