'Then devils came from all directions and assembled under the oak'

Illustration for Right and Wrong, from Myths and Legends of Russia, published by The Folio Society: [link]

The two different kinds of ink I used show up rather more clearly in this than in some of the other illustrations from this set. ^^; The final printed image for the book has unified all this, of course...

Hi Niroot, Great drawing. Always good to see new stuff from you.

Not sure what photo editing software you have, but upping the contrast a touch will even out the difference in the ink quality.
take care,
Aaron.

The figures are framed quite well in this one, and the lavish, loving attention paid to the flora is clearly evident. As for the usage of different inks - and this may sound strange - I'd actually be interested in seeing more instances of this in the future. True, some areas don't showcase this combination very well in this piece, such as in the human figure and the branch it's perched upon, but it creates focus and atmospheric perspective when it does work. Cases in point: the background trees at left and the devil figures at bottom center.

As always, your usage of silhouette herein is second to none.

These are so incredible! Normally I not really interested in silhouettes but these are absolutely FANTASTIC! I love all of your work.

This is incredibly detailed for a silhouette! Very nice. :)

You make the most absolutely stunning art: Everything I love about turn of the century illustrations, (always been my favorite kind of art) in your own beautiful style, in modern times- Even just those things blow me away.. and then the composition *dies*

Your art just inspires me! It makes me remember what I used to really admire about art- good art, really real art. Art I forgot I loved so much and now which I had devoted more time to practicing.
