This one is part of The Night Before Christmas. It's the original pop-up I made for the end of the book. I hadn't been able to post it before as I've only just got it back.
Here is another photograph, from a slightly less steep angle. It's probably the marginally better picture in terms of quality, but this one shows the layers better.
Made from white Canson Mi-Teintes paper. All the pieces were hand-cut with a scalpel. The base measures 472 x 236mm when open. The pop-up is roughly 155mm tall at its highest point (the church steeple).
It's endured a tiny amount of wear and dirt, having been in the hands of the paper engineers and cutters who reproduced it for the book two years ago. But my photograph is rather poor (sorry), so they are disguised.
You can see a picture of the book's version of the pop-up on Amazon, as well as other pictures kindly shared by a customer. There are also some very kind reviews there (which make my eyes red). I didn't post many pages from this book in my gallery, as the book is better seen in person. The pages contain cuts in them which reveal glimpses into the preceding and following pages.
Hello! I've submitted your piece into the group Art-Quilling [link] and would love if you considered joining! You've also been featured in our blog: Happy holidays!
