I really do wish dA wouldn't restrict title lengths...
Front Jacket of The Night Before Christmas, by Clement C. Moore, published by Walker Books, 2007 .
You can see two views of the pop-up at the end of the book here: [link] . I'm afraid they're not very large views, but I don't think I can take a better picture myself. There's so little light...
The original silhouettes were drawn in black ink and gouache.
This book (my fourth) has done so well, completely to my astonishment. There are three co-editions: US, published by Candlewick Press; French, published by Editions Milan; and Japanese (I'm afraid I don't know the publisher's name for this...) The Golden Treasury Bookshop in Southwest London even reproduced the silhouettes for their window display last year: [link] . This was also the first book I've illustrated to have earned me royalties. It was all quite bewildering...
This edition looks lovely, your illustrations are beautiful as ever and the style is so fluid and detailed Wonderful work, Niroot. The combination of shadow imagery with certain colors, gives it a very unique look I'm very happy to read this was the first publication to give you royalties and that it has been much sought I'm sure it is only the beginning of many accomplished projects for you
I bought this book for our family--our tradition is to read "The Night Before Christmas" on Christmas eve. We LOVED the book! The pop-ups are very well done, and I love, love, love all the delicate details.
Do you do autographed copies?

I too wish dA wouldn't make a limit to titles....
