Simple pop-up card (in terms of construction, at any rate, if not of the cutting ^^;) of the kinnaree of Thai mythology (for a drawn version with a variation on the creature's lower half and a little mythological background, please see: ).

The two halves of the card were each cut seperately from a single sheet, including the wings and tail coverts, which were then folded into place. The leg positions and decorative element on the lower front torso are different on each half.

The penny is for scale. The card measures 130mm x 150mm when closed. Made from ivory Canson Mi-Teintes paper. In an unusual moment of forethought, I actually managed to time myself on this project: 8-10 hours. I wore out four scalpel blades.
