I don't know if I've ever said this specifically to you before, but I absolutely adore the form and flow of your illustrated trees. They always seem so natural and unforced.

You know what? I wish I had never ever stumbled upon it because I will always remind myself about how poor I am I won't ever get this!
(Still hoping I will save enough to someday get one...)

Reminds me of the drawings of the animals from the beginning of the live-action Jungle Book movie.

That's gorgeous.

You must have a fantastic library!

(And certainly not available at B&N, I work there, we can't get a lot of your work in, sorry, I'd love to push it!)

I did think it was unlikely for a limited edition. I wonder if our friend who said she saw it might have mistaken something else for it after all...

Thank you so much for your kind comment, as ever.

The detailing is superb, and the way you painted it is brilliant. I personally love the contrast between gold and browns in this paper, and the motive reminds me of some adventure book that a friend of mine had when we was just two children... ahh, Childhood! Of course, it's a Fav!

Gorgeous. I have an old challenge printing press, that can be used to replicate art like this. Nice work.

I think it must have been a different edition of the book, as this one is limited and only available from the Folio Society.

On the other hand, a friend of mine has reminded me that B&N do stock some Folio books, which I do recall, but not the special editions (especially as they're usually bound to order). But that might have changed since, so it's possible you did see one after all. Do you think you might visit that branch again?

Yeah maybe in the next week or so... I swear it had the same design, though it may not have been exactly the same... with the gold print and everything.

If you do go back, do you think I might ask you to snap a picture of it, please? If it's not the same book, I'm curious to see how far the similarities go!

yeah I'd planned on it! the only problem was that it was at the check out area and I'm not sure it'll be there still... but I will look.

Unless the Folio Society has some unique deal with Barnes and Noble that I'm not aware of, I very much doubt it was this one. You might have seen the picture I linked to in the description or more on Folio's website (you can see the solander box the book is presented in on the latter too). But if it's just the design that looks similar, it's either coincidence or plagiarism. ;)

The light blues are making the gold pop out beautifully. I like the slight fantasy feel invoked by the huge fungus and twists of the tree. This is a gorgeous piece; if I saw this in a store I would buy the book for this cover alone!
