Flying Velociraptors by Himmapaan Flying Velociraptors by Himmapaan
How do I ever expect to be taken seriously by the palaeo community at this rate?

I think the one on the top right is my favourite.

Welll... if you lose the tertiaries, this is actually a very good restoration of Velociraptor. Just say that they're jumping up and down and flapping their arms as part of a mating display or something. ;)

I don't think velociraptors could hold their arms up that high.

The BBC have been doing a new TV series on dinosaurs called "Dinosaur planet". Gotta say the CGI versions of Sinornithosaurus didn't look too far off this picture.

Sure they were apparently gliders but I'm sure they flapped their arms around for display.

LOL  Ah who needs seriousness anyway? ;) Your artwork is still top-notch. I always think of your silly-but-realistically-drawn dinosaur images in some kind of book about dinosaurs :XD:

Are you ever going to print a sketchbook with just paleontological drawings in it? And maybe one for your other work too? Or a huge tome of everything?

Wow, and we thought we had it bad with misquitos as the biggest air-born pests! Lol. Beautiful designs!

Other then the really advanced looking feather pattern on the arms I could see these guys leaping about like this to display thier arm feathers in a mating display . Very nice !

To be fair, if these guys were microraptorines and unenlagiines, it wouldn't be inaccurate (unless if they were adult Unenlagia or Austroraptor)

I don't know about the palaeo community, but I take you seriously. You are a great artist.

Their attempts to fly make me think of excited chickens. :D

Ahhhhhh... I see you are a proponent of the hummingveeraptor theory of flight... Somehow, I hear Flight of the Bubblebee somewhere in the background. XD

Flying or not, the anatomy is so accurate and beautifully rendered that it's hard not to take it seriously!

I love how you feather the snout almost all the way down to the nosetip. Nice wing markings as well.

Ha ha, love this once again. Humor can be included in scientific things, Discovery Channel just did a series of dinosaur episodes called "Dinosaur Revolution" which has a bit of it in there. :)
