Although I like naked version more, in this case they still are what they are. Very nice!

I think this is just lovely. Finally some dromeosaurs with muscly legs, not the skinny little sticks I've been seeing lately.

They're cute!
I love that you show the versatility of their anatomy! So many people forget that with creatures they've never seen... I don't know exactly why.

EEE! I can never quite fathom just how you get your lines to be so soft and yet so... defined. Obviously you aren't using any sort of mechanical pencil? It's extremely distinctive, and so beautiful. :aww: What a lovely pair they are!

Oh, yes, I do use several mechanical pencils in drawings like this (B, 2B and 4B; I wish they would make a 6B lead!) -- it saves me a world of torment in constant sharpening. :giggle: The softness is attributable to the paper too; I prefer paper with a slight 'tooth'.

Thank you, April.

Aha! See, you do prefer a speedy alternative every now and again... :giggle: I'd always felt bad for relying so heavily on various mechanical pencils, but since I love fine lines so much, it only makes sense. I'm also enough of a pencil geek to own virtually every size they sell here, from 0.3 mm up to 0.9 mm.

I own a 2mm lead holder by Staedtler that I am in love with: It's thick enough for me to get some good tonal shifts, when I feel so inclined, and I can get a lovely point on it, too. (Which is where the sharpener comes in!)

You're very welcome, Niroot!

Oh, dear, I must have been giving quite a bad impression of myself as some prejudicial purist where materials and media are concerned! :giggle: :blushes: That isn't the case; it's a little more nuanced. ;) I always thought I'd been quite open about using mechanical pencils, actually; especially given my love -- as yours -- for fine lines. :D If I were to draw, say, a still life or a similar, more strictly observational figurative drawing, then that's when I go to the good old traditional pencil. :D

I think I may have a not dissimilar 2mm holder to yours. I haven't used it in ages. I don't have quite the same size range as yours though. I only have 0.35 and 0.5. Wait, your 0.3 is even finer yet! No fair. I waaant!

Oh no, not a bad impression at all. I'm just an awful tease at times, if you'll forgive me! :giggle:

As much as you and I have talked about various materials, I'm amazed I'd never asked about your pencils! I have some woodless graphite pencils made by Cretacolor that are nice, but I rarely use them out of fear of breakage. That, and it's been a while since I've done a full fledged tonal study. (Which means I need to do more observational drawings, ack!)

0.35? How interesting!!! The 0.3 I had owned previous to the one I'm using now ended badly; as I dropped it and the mechanism jammed beyond repair. I was quite upset. :noes: I'm tempted to add one of these pencils to the list of things I'll have to send you at some point. :D

I was too wondering about the softness-definition in your drawings! it is indeed distinctive of your works :D

Wonderful piece. I like the feather arrangement a lot. Just a small nit pick though, it looks like the nares on the deinonychus in the back is higher up than on the deinonychus in the foreground.

In the tiny preview picture, I thought the one on the top was wearing a monocle. I clicked excitedly, only to be slightly disappointed. :( There needs to be more dinosaurs wearing monocles, in my opinion.

Great work nevertheless, haha! These are actually my favorite type of dinosaur!

Knowing me, there'll probably be a monocle-wearing one in future. It's more likely than not...

During Christmas and New Years event the STEAM game "Primal Carnage" had their "Novaraptors" ( more or less Jurassic Park Velociraptors )wear a top hat, a mustache, and a monocle. They were quite smashing while they tore off the faces of humans. ♥ I took a few screenshots. :3
