Edited 18th October, 2012. File replaced with the sketchbook gutter down the middle of the spread removed (with many thanks to *Heliocyan). This ought to make prospective print buyers happier, I hope!

------

Adrift

Though perhaps 'Towed' might have been more apt a title.

Brown ink. Sketchbook spread, 260 x 210mm.

A friend remarked that, though humorous, there is yet an air of melancholy in the drawing.

You have to look at this at least for an half hour until you have seen every detail!

This is the kind of intricate detail I hope to achieve in my work one day.
I love it!

I've got my print of this now! Just trying to find a frame that will suit it (and big enough to fit it in!) Personally I quite like the gutter down the middle, not sure why, I think it makes me feel like I've got a real piece of art, not a print somehow!

Thank you, Laura! I'm glad you don't mind the gutter. I was a little worried some people may be a little disgruntled to find this gutterless version if they'd already just ordered the previous one. But not many people did order it precisely because of that, it seems.

Wonderful work. What do you use to ink your work? I used to use these brown-ink Edding technical drawing pens but they don't do them anymore.

Thank you, Steve. It can vary; I use fountain pens, dip pens and brushes. This one was drawn entirely with a fountain pen, but these days I use a brush almost all the time, to the point where I've become awkward with a dip pen now!

I think I know the brown Edding you mean. I was fond of that too.
