A: Spread 6, Layer 1: Detail by Himmapaan A: Spread 6, Layer 1: Detail by Himmapaan
To wish you a happy New Year of the non-saurian kind.

Detail of the first layer of spread 6 of Aladdin, published by Walker Books, 2011. A few watchers may recall this closer detail of Aladdin's robe which was submitted a while ago.

Ink and gouache on Arches hot pressed, 140lb/300gsm. The entire spread is fairly long, but for an approximate measure of this particular section, hopefully the penny in the link above might serve.

The book itself works rather like a theatre and is best seen in person. This photograph gives some idea of how it looks. Other snippets of artwork for this book are in this folder.

Available from Amazon (do please rally round to purchase it and help out a poverty-stricken artist...).

And don't forget, adding this to a 'fan art' collection will prompt me to send a hoard of mutant parasitic wasps to eat you from inside out... ;)

This is so beautiful!!! Your illustration reminds me of sitting down with my grandmother's copy of 1001 Nights and just flipping through the book looking for illustrations! :) :iconsweethugplz:
