Aladdin is now published. That 'mystery book' from which I'd been submitting all those peeks and whose title I had been so cautious about revealing. In fact, it's been available since two weeks ago. I'm slow.
This is a detail of one of the spreads which shows, as I'd previously mentioned, why the book needs to be seen in actuality. Each spread contains three separate layers and works rather like a theatre scene through which each successive layer can be viewed.
The irony is that although the book only works when seen in person in its final product, the amount of work and the time it took to produce may not be immediately evident unless one sees the originals. It would be hard to convince anyone, I think, that I spent some nine or ten months working on this book. Except perhaps the kind team at Walker Books, who bore my excruciating slowness with great patience and understanding.

Yaaay! We sell this book in our shop; I've just stumbled across your gallery, stopped in my tracks and had to go through it, and just thought, that can't be the same book! Hehe, it's a brilliant work of art, well done!!
